Take a tour of three Detroit churches and marvel at their history and architecture.
The Solanus Casey Center is a spiritual oasis where souls are nourished. It is a place of peace and the presence of God’s healing grace experienced through the intercession of Blessed Solanus. It is an anchor of authentic Catholic values and spirituality for generations past, present, and future. We will take a complete tour of the facility seeing art and artifacts, and then have a catered lunch at the center. Be sure to take time to visit the gift shop.
Our next tour is at the Old St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Greektown, Detroit, the third oldest parish in Detroit. View the 3 grottos, reliquary, and wood carved stations of the cross. This church has faithfully served by the Holy Spirit Fathers since 1893.
The last church of the day is at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, now Oratory is at Eastern Market. It was founded in 1855 and is a historic German Catholic Church. It is known for its beautiful stained glass windows. The building is considered one of the Midwest’s best examples of Victorian Gothic architecture, especially so because the structure is effectively unaltered.
A donation to each church will be made on your behalf.
Lunch is included at the Solanus Casey Center.
