LESS THAN 10 SPOTS LEFT – Visit two beautiful, recently restored, Frank Lloyd Wright homes as well as Tom Monaghan’s collection of Wright’s drawings, models, windows, doors, photos, correspondence and more.
The Gregor S. and Elizabeth B. Affleck House (also known as the Affleck House) is a Frank Lloyd Wright designed Usonian home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in Metro Detroit. It is one of only about 25 pre-World War II Usonians to be built.
The Dorothy H. Turkel House is the only Wright-designed building within the city limits of Detroit. The spacious, two-story residence also represents a rare example of Usonian design, since the "Usonian Homes" were typically small, single-story dwellings. It was recently restored, after years of neglect and vacancy, at a reported cost of one million dollars.
Enjoy a visit to Domino Farms. Drawings, models, windows, doors, photos, correspondence and much more from Wright’s legendary career can be found on display at Domino’s Farms. Much of the material only recently has been opened for viewing to the public — a bonanza for fans of good design. All of it was collected decades ago by Tom Monaghan, the founder of the Domino’s pizza company and builder of Domino’s Farms, who spent millions of dollars to amass the collection.
Lunch is included at Buca di Beppo.
