Day 1
September 16, 2021

Depart early this morning from Downriver Vets in Lincoln Park, MI for Clarksville, TN. Experience an exciting and emotional

tour celebrating veterans from all wars but especially those from the Viet Nam era. After our hotel check-in, Hotdogs and

Hamburgers will be served to Veterans and their families at the War Memorial Park sponsored by Oak Grove Tourism and

Tilted Kilt. Then there will be A Massing of the Colors, tributes and wreath laying to honor those names listed on the

American Veteran Traveling Tribute Wall, the Traveling Korean War Memorial and the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile exhibit. Should you decide you want to have a flag placed in the field of flags, there is a $40 fee. You may deicide to take the flag home with you or you may decide to keep it there to be displayed another year.

Day 2
September 17, 2021

Breakfast is included at the hotel. During our stay we will take time to visit the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall and Field of Honor®, and the Traveling Korean War Memorial all located at Oak Grove Gaming field. The American Veteran Traveling Tribute Wall is a 360 feet long and 80% the size of the wall in Washington DC. The AVTT Wall will be open 24 hours a day beginning at 9:00 am Thursday, September 16th till 9:00am on Sunday, September 19th. Korean War Memorial - this traveling Korean War Memorial features 19 soldiers in formation, with 3 additional soldiers around a campfire. Field of Honor® Tribute to Veterans is a display of flags sponsored in honor or in memory of veterans, first responders, family and friends. These 3 foot by 5 foot flags will line the field behind the AVTT Wall. It promises to be a beautiful and moving sight.

Be part of a Valor Luncheon and Recognition . The featured speaker, former POW Dave Carey, will tell his story of hope

after being a prisoner of war for more than 5 years in Vietnam. Quilts of Valor will also be presented at this time. Later in the afternoon see a full length video. "The Girl Who Wore Freedom" at the Roxy Regional Theatre . This is an Award Winning Documentary telling the stories of D-Day from the people who lived through German occupation and Allied liberation of Normandy, France. At 4:00 pm watch the Eternal Flame Ceremony - It is at the Public Square, Downtown Clarksville, honoring Veterans past and present. Dinner is one your own tonight. There are a number of restaurants in the area and there is a food court at the casino. There may also be a show tonight, but that has not been decided yet.

Day 3
September 18, 2021

Breakfast is at the hotel. Then prepare for the parade. Welcome Home Veterans Parade starts at 10:00 a.m. This is the 6th Annual Welcome Home Parade which takes to the streets in Downtown Clarksville. JROTC Cadets, marching bands, military vehicles and floats will gather to honor our veterans and say a very special Welcome Home. Veterans can march or ride in the parade. Lunch is on your own today. But at 2 pm there is a Veterans reception. Join us for a light reception at one of our local Veteran owned breweries. TN Valley Brewing Company will host this get-together for a moment of relaxation and visiting friends. Dinner will be included tonight followed by a concert in the evening. Come to the amphitheater at Oak Grove Gaming for a wonderful evening of music, featuring CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, Grammy Award winner, and American Patriot, Lee

Greenwood, best known for the song, “God Bless the USA”

Day 4
September 19, 2021

Breakfast is included at the hotel and board the bus to return to Lincoln Park with many, many fond memories and a strong desire to return next year. Thanks for traveling with Custom Holidays.
