Day 1
Monday, August 5

A morning departure from the Detroit area brings you to the West side of the state for a visit of Frankfort, MI. The pristine dunes, beaches and spectacular sunsets awe visitors and Frankfort locals alike. Victorian homes dominate the picturesque, maple-lined streets and shoppers find unique items crafted by local artisans in Frankfort's specialty shops and galleries. Enjoy a visit to Point Betsie Lighthouse & Boathouse Museum. Dinner is included tonight at a local restaurant before departing for your locally owned hotel near Traverse City. (D)

Day 2
Tuesday, August 6

Breakfast is not included today. This is a small northern hotel and breakfast is at a local restaurant. This morning spend some time at Sleeping Bear Dunes. A few years back it was named the “most Beautiful Place in America” on ABC’s Good Morning America. In the afternoon, visit the Music House Museum. Guests not only learn about the history of instruments, but hear many of them play; listening to the simplicity of the music boxes; being swept away by Gershwin playing Rhapsody In Blue on the 1925 reproducing piano; experiencing a silent film short with accompaniment of the 1924 Wurlitzer Theatre Organ; marveling at the majestic sounds of the 18 ft. tall, 32 ft. wide 1922 Mortier Dance Hall Organ and so much more. Dinner is included tonight. (D)

Day 3
Wednesday, August 7

Today, enjoy a relaxing day in Traverse City. This morning, take a scenic drive up to the Mission Point Peninsula as you make your way to the Mission Point Lighthouse. Enjoy lunch and a wine tasting at a local vineyard as well as a stop at a local orchard. In the afternoon, you will have the option of taking a tall ship sail cruise before dinner on your own in downtown Traverse City. This city has changed so much in the past few years, now is a great time to go back! (B,L)

Day 4
Thursday, August 8

Enjoy the morning at Grand Traverse Commons, then wave goodbye to Traverse City as we make our way up into the Upper Peninsula. On our way there, stop in Petoskey for lunch and a tour at Kilwin’s Chocolate Factory. After crossing the Mackinac Bridge, enjoy a scenic drive up to Sault Ste. Marie. Tonight dinner is included at a special restaurant and you will have time to view the freighters going through the locks before settling in for the night. Overnight in Sault Ste. Marie. (B,D)

Day 5
Friday, August 9

Breakfast, then take scenic shoreline route to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point. Tour the Shipwreck Museum, Lighthouse Keeper's Quarters, Museum Gift Shop and the grounds of the Museum and Lighthouse. Travel to Tahquamenon Falls Brewery & Pub in the Upper Falls Unit of the Tahquamenon Falls State Park for lunch. Hike into see the Upper Tahquamenon Falls with a Park Interpreter or visit the gift shop, relax in the pub or enjoy a rocker on the deck. Travel to Munising Falls and visit the Interpretive Center. Overnight in Munising.

Day 6
Saturday, August 10

Breakfast is included at your hotel. This morning, enjoy a scenic Pictured Rocks Boat Cruise on Lake Superior. After lunch, travel to the Big Spring of Michigan in the Palms Book State Park on Indian Lake near Manistique for the afternoon. Enjoy a raft ride over the Big Springs. This evening, make your way to St. Ignace to overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 7
Sunday, August 11

Following breakfast, you will have two options:

#1 . . . Visit the Mackinac Bridge & Interpretive Center and have lunch and free time in Mackinaw City to shop or visit Fort Michilimackinac

#2. . . take the ferry to Mackinac Island for lunch & free time. This afternoon, all depart for home. (B)
