Day 5
Friday, August 22

After an included breakfast at the hotel, depart for Shelby, MI., and visit the Lavender Labyrinth. The labyrinth is an ancient spiral pattern which, when walked, is thought to be a spiritual journey, and symbolic of one's path in life. In recent years, labyrinths have undergone a dramatic revival as a meditation, relaxation, and spiritual tool. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth is a continuous circuit, and you cannot get lost. On the property is Cherry Point Farm, one of the oldest operating farms in Oceana County, Michigan, just a mile from the Lake Michigan shoreline and minutes from the Silver Lake sand dunes. This area, known as Little Point Sable, is where the sun, sand and lake come together to create a bountiful farming area, as well as one of nature's greatest playgrounds. Independent Lunch at Ed Dunneback & Girls Farm, a fifth generation family farm on the northwest side of Grand Rapids. Fresh produce, sweet treats, farm-to-table lunch, gifts, and Michigan-made products. Home to Pink Barrel Cellars offering farm-crafted beer, hard cider, seltzers, and wine. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, Biergarten, and farm animals. (B)
