Today we’re touring Christ Church Cranbrook, Paint Creek Methodist Church and St. Florian. Enjoy a special lunch at The Royal Eagle Tea Room.
Christ Church Cranbrook: Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, Christ Church is rich in architectural detail and full of historic paintings, tapestries, and other appointments made by world-renowned artists and craftsmen. Paint Creek Methodist Church: In 1877, this little church was purchased for $1, dismantled and hauled by horse and wagon to its present location. The church had four pews on each side, was heated by wood burning stove, and had no indoor plumbing. The church was updated in 1946 with modern amenities and many local families have historical ties to Paint Creek Methodist Church. St. Florian Church: St. Florian rises eight stories above ground and recalls the great cathedrals of Europe. The front of the church features a broad Gothic Arch flanked by twin spires notable for the impression that gives off lightness and delicateness. The stained glass windows were made in Reading, PA and the giant pipe organ was built in Detroit.
Lunch is included at The Royal Eagle Tea Room – Seven-course Russian Tea luncheon, featuring a wide variety of foods, homemade soup, finger sandwiches & other heavy hors d’oeuvres, as well as a global selection of tea varieties.
