The streets, sidewalks, parks, bridges, and buildings of downtown Grand Rapids will once again be overflowing with art this fall, as the world’s most-attended public art event returns after a two-year absence
What is ArtPrize? ArtPrize® is an open, independently organized international art competition which takes place in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It celebrates artists working in all mediums from anywhere in the world, and is open to any creative with an artwork to enter and a venue willing to host it.
Where is ArtPrize in Grand Rapids? The ArtPrize district spans three-square miles of downtown Grand Rapids, MI. You’ll discover ArtPrize entries everywhere within that boundary, and even at a few venues that extend beyond it. Nearly 200 venues open their doors to host artists and visitors during each ArtPrize event. We cannot see it all in one day. During each ArtPrize festival $500,000 in cash prizes are awarded based on public voting and a jury of art experts. The exhibition typically features around 1,500 artists and awards $500,000 in prize money.
