Tara ~ A Country Inn

Depart Southgate, MI for a 2 night stay in Sharon, PA. Lunch is included at Burntwood Tavern at Cuyahoga Falls. Burntwood Tavern is located in the former powerhouse of LaFever Dam. Originally built in 1914, the powerhouse building now houses the bar area for this tavern. The original gear work that moved the dam's water flow doors are still in place over the bar top in the Tavern. After lunch, continue on to the Tara Inn with a welcome tour and afternoon tea. Spend the afternoon enjoying the beautiful property before an included dinner at the hotel. (L,D)

After an included breakfast, enjoy a shopping visit to the Cheese House in New Wilmington, featuring over 60 cheeses, imported, domestic and locally produced. They have specialty foods, Amish Jams and jellies, honey and Pennsylvania pure maple syrup. The Cheese House isn’t just cheese. There’s over 13,000 square feet of unique gifts under one roof. Next, we will visit the Wendell August Forge Flagship Store. Experience the traditional method of making hand hammered metal giftware. Tour the workshop and watch as skilled artisans and craftsmen create unique designs in aluminum, bronze, copper, and pewter. Your tour also includes the opportunity to watch the Old Forge Pewter, Jewelry Studio and Little Earth teams manufacture products before your eyes. Shop knowing that all of their products are handmade onsite, one at a time. Lunch is included at Libations Winery. Enjoy their homemade woodfired pizza and salad along with a wine tasting. After lunch, visit Fairlamb Lavender Farm. Meet the owner of this small, curated farm and hear their story along with a glass of refreshing lavender lemonade and cookies. Make your own lavender sachet to take home with you. The shop has a selection of lavender products, gifts and lavender plants for sale along with carefully selected vintage collectibles, architectural salvage pieces, primitive antiques, ironstone & glassware. Arrive back at the Tara Inn for afternoon tea and free time to relax and enjoy the property before an included dinner at the hotel. (B,L,D)

After an included breakfast, visit Daffin’s Candies 20,000 square foot store complete with a life-sized chocolate fantasyland. Sample chocolate and shop their store. On our way home, stop for a homestyle lunch at Hartville Kitchen and Shops. They feature a beautiful array of women’s fashion accessories, the latest designer jewelry and handbags, as well as clothing and other unique items to brighten your wardrobe. The Hartville Kitchen Restaurant, Bakery, Candy Shop and Hartville Cucina, Oil & Vinegar Tasting Room, are all conveniently located in the same building. Return to Southgate (B,L)
