Day 1
Wednesday, July 29

Depart Michigan for Ontario and arrive in Ingersoll to check into the historic Elmhurst Inn & Spa. A southwestern Ontario landmark, the Elm Hurst Inn & Spa combines historic charm and scenic beauty with the modern amenities today’s travelers have come to expect from a premier boutique hotel. The Elm Hurst mansion was built in 1872 as the personal residence of James Harris and family. A fine example of the Gothic Revival style, it remained a stately family home for more than a century. This evening, savor a delicious dinner at the hotel, featuring locally-inspired dishes crafted by their talented chef. (D)

Day 2

After an included breakfast begin the day with a guided tour of the Waterloo Region. Experience Waterloo Region through an interactive, scavenger-huntstyle tour that combines sightseeing, photography and discovery. Guided by clues and prompts, we’ll explore the region’s story from Industry to Innovation, with stops that highlight both rural landscapes and cultural landmarks. Our route includes time at St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market, followed by a drive through the Mennonite Countryside. The tour concludes with a visit to the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, Ontario’s largest community museum. Dinner is included at the hotel followed by an evening performance of The Importance of Being Earnest at Stratford’s Avon Theatre. (B,D)
